Adjustment Techniques

Chiropractic Care  | Postpartum, Pregnancy, & Infant

Unique to your needs

W offer many different types of gentle techniques. It is our goal to deliver safe and effective care that is most suited to you and your infant’s needs.  Every-“body” is different, therefore a variety of strategies should be used to restore proper function- this is the “Art of Chiropractic”.

Webster Technique (Pregnancy)

The Webster Technique is not a breech-turning method, rather it is a technique that helps eliminate 3 of the 4 main reasons and causes of dystocia (difficulty in labor) as cited by Williams Obstetrics. The following are three reasons for dystocia (which is the cause of 50-60% of c-sections); abnormalities of uterine contractions, abnormalities of the bony pelvis or presentation and position or development of the fetus. These can all be greatly reduced if not eliminated with chiropractic care.

The  Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment that reduces interference to the nervous system and balances maternal pelvic muscles and ligaments. This in turn reduces torsion in the uterus, a cause of intra-uterine constraint of the baby, and allows for optimal fetal positioning in preparation for birth. This pelvic balancing should take place throughout pregnancy to help create the best possible environment for the
developing fetus.

Thompson Terminal Point Technique

This technique first determines whether the subluxation is of the lower spine or cervical by performing a very accurate leg check.  The patient is placed on a Thompson Terminal point table, which is specifically designed for this technique.  The table contains a special weighing mechanism that instantly weighs the patient and adds enough tension to hold the patient in the “up”  position before any thrust. This is a very accurate direct adjustment that does not inflame the soft tissue.

This technique can be used by all patients including those who are pregnant.

Cranial Release Technique

This is a  natural, hands-on approach to releasing the body’s inborn capacity to heal and regenerate itself. CRT can be applied in only minutes, yet it has profound effects on overall health and well-being. The entire cranium is “released” or restored to normal function with one process.   This”release” of the bones of the skull initiates a release of all the tissues and structures associated with the cranium. This technique works especially well for those with:

  • TMJ problems
  • headaches
  • sinus problems
  • those who have difficulty “holding” their adjustments
  • I have also found it works great as a stress reliever.

Neuro Emotional Technique

NET is a way of finding trapped emotions and releasing them from the body to reduce stress and remove unwanted symptoms and behaviors. Simply stated: it helps you figure out exactly what the “thing” is that is bothering you or causing pain, the emotion associated with it, and the connection between the two. Once these are connected, you process that emotion during the session. You may find after processing you have less physical pain or feel less stressed about the “thing” that was weighing on you. NET uses manual muscle testing, traditional Chinese meridians, and modern psychology to identify the origin of stress and facilitate emotional processing. You can learn more about NET here.

Neuro Emotional Technique for Kids

Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) is well suited for assisting kids through their emotional stressors as well! Children face many tough experiences as they navigate the difficulties of school years and the relationships they make along the way. We can use NET to process their feelings as they come up and reduce the effects of these stressors on their wellbeing. By building a solid emotional foundation at a young age, they will have the tools to address their emotional health into adulthood. Common reasons a child would utilize NET: birth trauma, developmental delays, bedwetting, fears and anxieties, unexplained physical symptoms, being too hard on themselves/high expectations, test anxiety, dealing with bullying or difficult relationships, childhood trauma, experience with other health issues, and many more. Schedule a free NET phone consult to find out if NET could be a good option for your child.

What to Expect

After an adjustment, we advise that a patient drink plenty of water. Some patients feel tired, some feel sore, and some feel great! Remember that the adjustments allow the body to start healing itself – this takes time and is a process – not a “quick fix” or a pill to mask your symptoms.
