Healing Emotional Blocks: Where to Start

Chiropractic Care  |  Pre-Post Natal & Child

A question that has been pondered since the beginning of intelligent thought: where does the mind end and the body begin?

We actually still don’t have an answer to this, even though the world’s greatest philosophers, neuroscientists, and physicists have been hard at work on this question for generations.

And the thing is, it affects us all daily. Because we have a body and a mind and a connection between them that causes hard-to-explain symptoms and patterns.

And since we don’t have a way to understand this mind-body connection, we are sometimes throwing spaghetti at the wall and seeing what sticks when it comes to resolving these symptoms and patterns.

One piece of spaghetti that continues to stick: releasing emotional blocks.

What are Emotional Blocks?

Emotional blocks are experiences that don’t get properly processed and filed by our nervous system. Which leads to unwanted symptoms, behavioral/mood changes, and patterns in our mind and body.

Whew, that was wordy. Basically, its what controls the things your body does without your consent.

Like forgetting the entire speech you were about to give the moment you step on stage.

Or trying to be cool in front of your friend’s friends that you want to impress and saying a joke that fell flat, then walking way wondering why you said something so embarrassing.

Or reverting back to a teenager in the presence of your parents, when you want them to take you seriously, since you are, in fact, a parent yourself now. Yet you leave their house feeling like you did when you were 16.

Or or or…the list goes on.

The point is, emotional blocks are annoying and controlling and make us feel bad. sigh

What Do They Feel Like?

They feel out of control. We move and act and say things we don’t mean because we can’t help ourselves. Our emotional blocks run the show in certain environments and we don’t have a say in that.

It can feel like wanting to do something really badly but being unable to bring yourself to do it, like go for a jog or clean up the dishes.

It can feel like imposter syndrome, shyness, or panic in a social situation.

Maybe you want to write that book but you can’t bring yourself to sit down at the computer to do it. Or when you do, your mind goes blank.

Or maybe you want to be “a cool mom” and be more laid back about messes and noise, but you. just. can’t.

These blocks are out of our immediate control (we can’t just turn them off with a thought) and they dictate what choices we make in certain situations.

Problems Emotional Blocks Can Cause

Apart from the above-mentioned social annoyances, emotional blocks can also cause physical pain and symptoms. (yay!)

These symptoms can be acute or chronic, sharp or dull, constant or intermittent.

Emotional blocks can be part of literally any issue we can experience. And even if we receive an appropriate standard of care, if the emotional piece is not addressed, the issue can linger.

Which also means that if you relieve the pain or symptoms without addressing the emotional component, it’s likely the issue will return.

This may feel super overwhelming! You mean I have to figure out how to release these emotional blocks that could be anything and could be associated with anything I’m feeling!

Yes! But have no fear, I have the perfect solution for you: Neuro Emotional Technique.

How NET Helps in Healing Emotional blocks

Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) is a technique that pinpoints exactly what [subject + emotion] complex is stuck in the body and associating with your symptom.

We use muscle testing to figure out:

  1. the subject (money, job, friend, family, etc)
  2. the emotion (anger, sadness, frustration, fear, etc)
  3. how they are connected
  4. what the root if it all is

And then you process it.

With NET, we get the full story of what your body is feeling (and trying to release!) and then you actually shift that energy in your body so that it doesn’t bother you anymore.

The beauty of this technique is that it clarifies what your mind and body are trying to connect to and provides the space for change to happen.

It’s not talk therapy, and while there may be a little discussion to figure out the root of it, we aren’t getting lost in a story. NET helps us get to the root of it as quickly as possible, and then we do something about it.

And the result…is magic.

What’s Waiting on the Other Side

After processing the emotion using NET, you may feel

  • peace
  • lighter
  • clear-headed
  • partial or complete resolution of symptoms
  • more flexibility
  • less tension
  • calm
  • joy

The truth of it all is that our body is really smart and it wants to feel aligned with our minds, but it carries so much that we can’t see. And when we aren’t letting go of what we need to let go of, the body will allow it to manifest in a physical way to get our attention.

NET is the perfect tool to pinpoint what the issue is and create a shift in the body so that you feel better.

It’s true healing, its not a bandaid. You rewire your nervous system with every session and create noticeable changes in your physiology.

And the issues it can address are endless.
